SEPTEMBER: SPRING POETRY FESTIVAL

RACHAEL PETRIDIS
& THE OOTA POETS

Rachael Petridis is a Fremantle Poet. As a founding member of OOTA she has been involved with poetry readings and fund raising since 1998. She was on the editorial committee of OOTA's third anthology Friday's Page. Rachael has published widely in Australian Literary Journals and anthologies. In 2004 she was selected for the New Poets Program at Wollongong NSW. In August this year she won a place at the Varuna Longlines Poetry Workshop, Katoomba, NSW as one of four poets selected nationally.

The OOTA Poets are all members of the Out Of The Asylum Writer's Group. The name is taken from the Fremantle Arts Centre which was historically the Fremantle Women's Asylum, where they meet on alternate Friday mornings at 1000 am with facilitator and inspiration, poet Shane McAuley.
